Vinification of Markus Altenburger Jois Cuvée
This well-balanced red wine from Austria is cuvée’d from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Without question, the Jois Cuvée is also shaped by the climatic and stylistic factors of Leithaberg / Neusiedlersee-Hügelland. This Austrian can, in the truest sense of the word, be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive way. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery without delay. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Jois Cuvée is aged for several more months in French oak barrels.
