More information about Letargo Crianza - Bodegas D. Mateos
The elegant Letargo Crianza from Bodegas D. Mateos enters the glass in a bright purple-red. The first nose of the Letargo Crianza reveals notes of dried plums, raisins and fruit bread. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by barrel-aging notes such as sun-warmed rocks, cinnamon and gingerbread spice.
Bodegas D. Mateos Letargo Crianza delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with only 2.1 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the premium entry-level range, this Spaniard, despite all its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Excellent flavor simply does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine presents itself wonderfully silky and velvety. Thanks to the balanced acidity, Letargo Crianza caresses the palate with a soft feel, without lacking juicy liveliness. The finish of this red wine from the La Rioja wine-growing region, more precisely from Rioja DOCa, ultimately convinces with a remarkable length.
Vinification of Letargo Crianza by Bodegas D. Mateos
This balanced red wine from Spain is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Garnacha, Graciano and Tempranillo. Once perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Letargo Crianza are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of coarse, less selective mechanical harvesters. After picking, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, Letargo Crianza is aged for a further 12 months in oak barriques.
Food recommendation for Letargo Crianza by Bodegas D. Mateos
