More information about Mâcon Azé - Domaine de la Garenne (Bourgogne)

With the Domaine de la Garenne (Bourgogne) Mâcon Azé, a first-class white wine comes into the swirling glass. It shows a wonderfully bright, golden-yellow color. At the center, this white wine displays a charming golden-yellow hue. When swirling the wine glass, you can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. Poured into a white wine glass, this Old World white wine offers wonderfully expressive aromas of pineapple and lemon, rounded off by further fruity nuances.

This French wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this Frenchman naturally enchants, despite all its dryness, with the finest balance. After all, aroma does not necessarily need sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced white wine presents itself as wonderfully crisp. On the finish, this matured wine from the Burgundy wine-growing region impresses with good length. Once again, hints of lemon and pineapple appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Domaine de la Garenne (Bourgogne) Mâcon Azé

The balanced Mâcon Azé from France is a single-varietal wine made from the Chardonnay grape variety. In Burgundy, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils. The Mâcon Azé is an Old World wine through and through, as this French wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally drawn off.
