More information about Aligoté Bourgogne AOC - Joseph Drouhin
The Aligoté Bourgogne from Joseph Drouhin in Burgundy displays a bright, platinum-yellow color in the wine glass. On the nose, this Joseph Drouhin white wine presents all kinds of green apple and lemon. As if that were not already impressive, smoky notes are added by the maturation in stainless steel.
On the palate, the Aligoté Bourgogne from Joseph Drouhin starts off wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. There is dry and there is really dry. This white wine belongs to the latter group, as it was vinified with just 1.4 g of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp. Thanks to its pronounced fruit acidity, the Aligoté Bourgogne shows itself on the palate as fabulously fresh and lively. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Burgundy wine region ultimately convinces with a good length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the limestone- and marl-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Joseph Drouhin Aligoté Bourgogne
This white wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Aligoté. For this exceptionally well-balanced varietal wine from Joseph Drouhin, only first-class grape material was harvested. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Burgundy. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into soils of limestone and marl. When perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Aligoté Bourgogne are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of strenuous and barely selective machines. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
