Aligoté wine for lively enjoyment

Fruity and acidic wines are made from the Aligoté grape variety - ideal for sunny summer days. The grape also cuts an excellent figure in sparkling wines. From north to south, Aligoté is vinified in France according to the méthode champenoise to produce fresh, fruity cremants with a sparkling character that turn any occasion into a celebration.

History and distribution of Aligoté wines

Aligoté was first mentioned in France in 1780, at that time still under the name Plant de Trois. The name refers to the variety's typical growth of three grapes per shoot. The current name first appeared in 1807. The variety is related to other well-known names in French wine culture such as Pinot, Gouais Blanc and Chardonnay. In addition to its native Burgundy, Aligoté wine is now also produced in many other regions in Europe and around the world. Growing areas can be found in Romania and Bulgaria, Chile, California and Australia, for example.

The Bourgogne Aligoté

Bourgogne Aligoté is the wine-growing region where the wine is cultivated in France. Most of the Aligoté wine that you can buy in the VINELLO store also comes from here. These include, for example, the Bourgogne Aligoté AOC - Louis Jadot and the Bourgogne Aligoté AOP - Domaine Henri Delagrange. These two single-varietal wines are ideal as balcony and terrace wines as well as for parties in the warmer months.

Crémant from Aligoté

In addition to white wines, the acidic grapes of the white variety are also used for sparkling wines known as crémant. You can choose a high-quality crémant with one of these sparkling wines from our range, for example.

  • Crémant de Bourgogne Brut Réserve AOC - Caves de Marsigny
  • Millésimé Brut Crémant de Bougogne AOC - Veuve Ambal
  • Crémant de Bourgogne Tasteviné Brut - Caves Bailly-Lapierre
