More information about Perpetual DO - Miguel Torres
With the Miguel Torres Perpetual, a first-class red wine comes into the swirled glass. In this it offers a wonderfully dense, purple color. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is reflected in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. This Spanish cuvée shows wonderfully fragrant notes of plums, black cherries, plums and morello cherries in the glass. These are joined by hints of sun-warmed rock, forest floor and cigar box.
This Spanish wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine icon wine segment, this Spaniard naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky and dense. In the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region of Catalonia finally thrills with exceptional length. There are again hints of plum and mulberry. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Perpetual by Miguel Torres
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Cuvée Perpetual by Miguel Torres are Cariñena and Garnacha grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Catalonia. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of shale. Perpetual is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Spaniard exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Perpetual are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately sent to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Perpetual is aged for another 16 months in French oak barriques.
