The Tokaji Late Harvest from Tokaj Oremus is a wonderful, full-bodied dessert wine from the grape varieties Furmint (50%), Zeta (25%), Harslevelü (20)% and Muscat de Lunel (5%).
In the glass, this wine shines in a bright golden yellow with glittering highlights. The aromatic bouquet reveals a variety of aromas of juicy vineyard peaches, ripe quinces and fresh citrus fruits - accompanied by white summer flowers and acacia honey. This Tokaj pampers the palate with a lush fruit fullness of apricot, pear and lemon. The juicy sweetness harmonizes perfectly with the fine, elegantly balanced acidity. The finale comes with a beautiful length.
Vinification of Oremus Late Harvest Tokaji
The harvest of the grapes begins in mid-September and lasts until the beginning of October. In several passes, the berries are carefully picked by hand and then immediately brought to the wine cellar of Oremus. The grapes are always gently pressed in small quantities and the must is then fermented in new barrels of Hungarian oak (partly 136-litre Goncer barrels and partly 220-litre Ceredny barrels). After the fermentation process is complete, this dessert wine is aged for 6 months in Hungarian oak barrels. Finally, this wine is bottled and rounded off harmoniously in the wine cellars for at least 15 months.
