In the glass, Wien.1 - Weingut Pfaffl shines in clear, radiant straw yellow with delicate, silvery shimmering reflections. The color appears inviting and elegant. With the first swirl, a fine bouquet rises, typical of Riesling from Lower Austria and at the same time expressing a modern, urban style.

On the nose, juicy stone fruits, ripe peaches and zesty citrus notes appear, underpinned by a subtle hint of vanilla. This vanilla note is refined, never obtrusive, and reminiscent of delicate pastry aromas. A touch of white blossoms and fine herbal spice completes the bouquet and lends additional depth.

On the palate, the wine presents itself dry and precise. The fresh acidity carries the fruit along a taut line and gives the Riesling an animating tension. The texture appears silky, with a slight pull on the palate, while the fruit is dominated by lemon, lime and white peach. A delicate note of vanilla accompanies the finish and lends the wine a fine, almost creamy melt.

The structure appears straightforward and focused. The lively acidity forms the backbone, while fine mineral nuances from the sandstone soil provide clarity and grip. Tannins, as is natural for this white wine, appear only very subtly, while the length is impressive. The finish is fresh, fruit-driven and pleasantly citrus-spicy.

This Riesling comes from the renowned wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from the surroundings of the metropolis of Vienna. The Pfaffl estate produces lively, characterful white wines here that impressively reflect the cool nights and warm days of the region.
