The Mount Hermon Red from Golan Heights Winery is a balanced, elegant and appealing red wine cuvée from the wine-growing region of Golan / Galilee. This cuvée is vinified from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
This wine presents a deep purple color in the glass. On the nose, wonderfully seductive aromas of sour cherry and wild berries - accented by garden herbs, spices and a floral hint of violets. On the palate, this red wine impresses with a great fullness of fruit. Full-bodied aromas of blackberries, plums and fine sour cherries reveal themselves. The tannins are supple and soft, integrating with the medium body and highlighting the fruit. A delicate acidity is integrated into the elegant body, giving this wine its wonderful structure.
Vinification of the Golan Heights Winery Mount Hermon Red
The Galilee is the northernmost and best appellation of the Israeli settlement. It is also one of the coldest regions. The vineyards are located on a plateau at an altitude of about 400 to 1200 meters.
The must is fermented on the skins in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation then takes place in used barrique barrels. In these, this red wine still matures until the Mount Hermon Red is bottled.
