The choice for the vineyard in Manteca was easy for Gaspares. A child from a wine-growing family - emigrated to America - found there the climate of his home.

A former equestrian site

In the past, the Black Stallion property had been an equestrian compound, home to prize-winning horses. Even today, the horse stables remain. Today, Black Stallion Estate is home to high quality wines. 

The master of the wines

At Black Stallion Estate, Ralf Holdenried leaves nothing to chance. The winemaker tastes all the grapes and has an incomparably honed palate. He also tastes, tries out, before deciding on a final cuvée. The goal is always the same: to create a seamless, harmonious wine that reflects the best expression of the vintage of the grape variety in Napa Valley.
