The mousse of this sparkling wine appears in the glass as extremely fine, elegant and long-lasting. When swirling the glass, one can perceive an exceptional balance in this sparkling wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the sides of the glass. The first nose of the Brut Grand Cru shows notes of ripe apple and raspberries. More fruity-balsamic nuances join the fruity aspects of the bouquet.
On the palate, this well-balanced sparkling wine is characterized by an extremely crisp, light and creamy texture. On the finish, this sparkling wine from the Champagne wine-growing region delights with a beautiful length. Once again, hints of ripe apple and raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the clay- and limestone-dominated soils also join in.
Vinification of the Brut Grand Cru from Vesselle Georges
The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Brut Grand Cru cuvée from Vesselle Georges is Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Champagne. Here the vines drive their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. The Brut Grand Cru is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this French wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. The development of the grapes for this wine from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is influenced to a not inconsiderable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Champagne, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and even grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After the grape harvest, the wine grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by the fermentation of the base wines. After the assemblage of the Champagne, the further maturation takes place on the basis of the méthode champenoise. The Vesselle Georges Brut Grand Cru then matures in the bottle for several months and is finally disgorged.
