More information about Bushvine Pinotage - Lievland

The barrel-aged Bushvine Pinotage from the Cape South Coast wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright purple red, light red. This South African cuvée flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of mulberries, plums, damsons and blueberries. There are also hints of other fruits.

This dry red wine from Lievland is perfect for purists who prefer their wines bone dry. The Bushvine Pinotage comes very close to this, having been vinified with just 2.5 grams of residual sugar. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, the Bushvine Pinotage caresses the palate with a velvety mouthfeel without sacrificing juicy liveliness. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Cape South Coast wine-growing region delights with a lovely length. Once again, nuances of black cherry and blueberry emerge.

Vinification of Lievland Bushvine Pinotage

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Bushvine Pinotage cuvée from Lievland is Cinsault, Pinotage and Shiraz grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Bushvine Pinotage is aged for another 13 months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for Lievland Bushvine Pinotage

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from South Africa at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to stuffed bell peppers, duck breast with sugar snap peas or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
