More information about Cabernet Sauvignon - Cederberg

The elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from the hand of Cederberg enters the glass in a brilliant purple-red. After the first swirl, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not appear watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The nose of this red wine from the Cape South Coast impresses with aromas of plum and blackcurrant. Following the aromatics further, cedarwood emerges, promoted by the influence of oak.

The Cederberg Cabernet Sauvignon presents itself to the wine enthusiast as wonderfully dry. This red wine never appears rough or austere, but rather round and smooth. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Cape South Coast wine-growing region finally delights with considerable length. Once again, hints of plum and blackcurrant appear.

Vinification of Cederberg Cabernet Sauvignon

This balanced red wine from South Africa is vinified from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety. After the harvest, the grapes are swiftly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by maturation for several months in French oak barriques.

Food recommendation for Cederberg Cabernet Sauvignon

This red wine from South Africa is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic sauce, or boiled veal brisket with beans and tomatoes.
