Vinification of the Zapata Catena Malbec Magnum
The Malbec grapes for this red wine come from three different vineyard sites: Lunlunta, El Cepillo and Gualtallary.
After the grapes are carefully harvested, they are first cold macerated in the Catena Zapata winery for 5 days at a temperature of about 9 degrees Celsius. This is followed by 16 days of fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, this wine is macerated for 22 days. Once maceration is complete, this red wine is placed in wooden barrels and ages in them for a total of 12 to 14 months.
