More information about Change Merlot - Gerard Bertrand

The barrel-aged Change Merlot from the Languedoc wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright purple red. The first nose of the Change Merlot reveals notes of pineapple, mulberries and cape gooseberries. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by barrel-aging notes such as black tea, juniper and gingerbread spice.

This wine captivates with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Frenchman delights with the finest balance. Flavor simply does not necessarily require sugar. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Languedoc wine-growing region finally delights with a beautiful length. Hints of pineapple and blackcurrant appear once again.

Vinification of the Gerard Bertrand Change Merlot

This well-balanced red wine from France is organically produced from the Merlot grape variety. At optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Change Merlot are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of coarse and less selective machinery. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Change Merlot can continue to harmonize for a few months on the fine lees.

Food recommendation for the Gerard Bertrand Change Merlot
