More information about Crianza DO - Castillo Valmadrid
The Crianza, aged in barrels and hailing from the wine-growing region of Aragon, reveals itself in the glass in a bright purple-red. In the glass, this red wine from Castillo Valmadrid shows aromas of blackberry, complemented by blackcurrant and redcurrant. The Castillo Valmadrid Crianza impresses with its straightforward, dry flavor profile. It was bottled with 4.5 grams of residual sugar. For an entry-level wine, this is by no means a given, and despite its dryness this Spaniard delights with a wonderfully fine balance. Aroma by no means necessarily requires residual sugar. This light red wine presents itself on the palate as balanced and multi-layered. Thanks to its well-balanced acidity, the Crianza caresses the palate with a pleasing mouthfeel, without sacrificing freshness. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Aragon region finally delights with a beautiful length, again revealing hints of blackberry.
Vinification of Castillo Valmadrid Crianza
This well-balanced red wine from Spain is a cuvée made from the Cariñena, Garnacha and Tempranillo grape varieties. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally racked.
