More information about Good Hope Chardonnay - Danie de Wet

The elegant Good Hope Chardonnay from Danie de Wet flows into the glass with a bright golden yellow color. The first nose of Good Hope Chardonnay shows notes of pomelo, mangoes and lemongrass. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.

This white from Danie de Wet is perfect for all wine enthusiasts who like it dry. However, it never shows itself to be meager or brittle, which is absolutely not a matter of course for a wine in the entry-level range. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Good Hope Chardonnay presents itself as fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the Breede River Valley wine-growing region finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of pineapple and lime appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and limestone are added.

Vinification of the Danie de Wet Good Hope Chardonnay

The basis for the balanced Good Hope Chardonnay from Breede River Valley are grapes from the Chardonnay grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Breede River Valley. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food recommendation for the Danie de Wet Good Hope Chardonnay

This South African white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to vegetable salad with beetroot, spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto or fruity endive salad.
