More information about Emilín Moscatel Jerez DO - Emilio Lustau

The barrel-aged Emilín Moscatel Jerez from the wine-growing region of Andalusia reveals itself in the glass in dense platinum yellow. Swiveling the glass, this sherry reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. This single varietal Spanish wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of dried fruit, violets, fruit breads and raisins in the glass. These are joined by hints of vanilla, brittle and gingerbread spice.

The Emilio Lustau Emilín Moscatel Jerez shows us an incredibly fruity taste on the tongue, which is not least due to its residual sweet flavor profile. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Emilín Moscatel Jerez presents itself exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this sherry from the wine-growing region of Andalusia finally inspires with exceptional length. Once again, hints of prunes and pink grapefruit are evident. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the sand-dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the Emilio Lustau Emilín Moscatel Jerez

This powerful sherry from Spain is vinified from the Moscatel grape variety. In Andalusia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand. Emilín Moscatel Jerez is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Spaniard breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Emilín Moscatel Jerez are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of coarse and less selective full harvesters.

Food recommendation for the Emilio Lustau Emilín Moscatel Jerez

This Spanish sherry is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to pear-lime strudel, elderflower yogurt ice cream with lemon balm or blackberry cream dessert.
