This Portuguese cuvée shows wonderfully expressive notes of raisins, fruit breads, prunes and dried fruit in the glass. These are joined by hints of cocoa bean, toasted barrique and cinnamon.
On the palate, the texture of this punchy port is wonderfully silky and dense. Finally, the finish of this age-worthy port from the Douro & Porto wine region, more specifically from the Douro DOC, is convincing with exceptional persistence.
Vinification of Feuerheerd's Forty Years Old Port Decanter
The starting point for Feuerheerd's premium and wonderfully powerful Forty Years Old Port Decanter cuvée is Tempranillo, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the pressing house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
