More information about The Steading GSM - Torbreck
Torbreck's The Steading GSM is a fascinating red wine blend of Grenache (77%), Mataro (15%) and Shiraz (8%).
In the glass, this Australian wine shimmers a dark ruby red with purple highlights. The bouquet reveals delightfully spicy aromatics - ranging from truffle and cinnamon, to licorice and Mediterranean herbs. The aromas of the nose are underpinned by subtle notes of spring flowers. The palate is pampered by an elegant structure with a velvety texture. Finely woven are notes of juicy cherries and a ripe tannin framework. The finish awaits with wonderful spice, black cherries and superb length.
Vinification of the Torbreck The Steading
After the grapes are carefully picked, they are immediately taken to the winery. There the grapes are selected and prepared for fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After the mash is fermented, this red wine is aged for 20 months in French oak barriques. This gives this wine its spicy character, ripe tannins and wonderful color.
Food recommendation for the Steading by Torbreck
Enjoy this dry red wine from Australia with spicy, robust stews, grilled beef steak with crunchy bean salad or also with creamy, spicy cheeses, such as Gorgonzola.
