In the glass, the Jasper Würmlin Pinot Gris displays a dense copper-gold color. When swirling the wine glass, this white wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is reflected in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of the Jasper Würmlin Pinot Gris reveals notes of nashi pear, apples and pears. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.
The Ziereisen Jaspis Würmlin Grauer Burgunder impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. Here it is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Baden, which can be stored well, finally delights with its beautiful length. Once again, hints of pear and nashi pear appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Ziereisen Jaspis Würmlin Pinot Gris
This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Gris. Only premium grape material was harvested for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Ziereisen. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Baden. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone. Jaspis Würmlin Grauer Burgunder is an Old World wine through and through, as this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
