The winery: Luccarelli (Farnese Vini)

The winery Luccarelli is located in the heart of Salento in Apulia and belongs to the renowned, dynamic group Farnese Vini (Fantini). Luccarelli stands for a successful symbiosis of centuries-old winemaking tradition and state-of-the-art cellar technology. The old vines, often trained as bush vines (Alberello), root deep in the typical red iron oxide soils (“Terra Rossa”) of the region, which store the intense Mediterranean sun during the day and release it to the plants at night.

Under the visionary leadership of experienced oenologists, Luccarelli succeeds year after year in drawing the maximum of varietal fruit and velvety texture from the autochthonous grape varieties such as Primitivo, Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera. The wines are characterized by their dense, ruby-red color, an opulent bouquet and silky-soft tannins, which is why they regularly achieve top marks at international wine awards such as Luca Maroni or Mundus Vini.

The wines in the package in detail

1. Primitivo Puglia IGP – vintage 2025

The perfect introduction to the multifaceted world of Apulia’s flagship grape variety. This Primitivo comes across as wonderfully uncomplicated, juicy and immensely charming.

• Character: An approachable, harmonious red wine with a deep ruby-red color and a soft body.
• Aromatics: Intense notes of ripe cherries, plums and fine nuances of Mediterranean herbs and a hint of cocoa.
• Serving recommendation: A wonderful all-rounder that is ideal with classic pasta, pizza, fine antipasti or grilled chicken (serving temperature 16–18 °C).

2. Negroamaro Puglia IGP – vintage 2025

Alongside Primitivo, Negroamaro is the soul of Salento. It brings wonderful structure, deep dark spiciness and an elegant freshness to the wine package.

• Character: Full-bodied, velvety and with a pleasant, lively acidity that lends perfect balance to the dense body.
• Aromatics: Dark forest berries, blackberry jam and blackcurrants, subtly underpinned by fine spice notes such as cloves, thyme and a touch of liquorice.
• Serving recommendation: Excellent with spicy meat dishes, hearty stews or mature hard cheese at a serving temperature of 16–18 °C.

3. Campo Marina Malvasia Nera Salento IGP – vintage 2023

The rare Malvasia Nera grape variety is vinified as a single varietal here and displays a particularly fine, almost aristocratic elegance that delights connoisseurs.

• Character: Elegant, smooth and multi-layered. The tannins are perfectly integrated, and the finish is long, with a pronounced fruit character.
• Aromatics: A beguiling bouquet of ripe plums, pomegranate and raspberries, accompanied by subtle nuances of vanilla, leather and fine tobacco from the careful maturation in wooden barrels.
• Serving recommendation: Pairs excellently with roast lamb saddle, dark poultry or Asian-inspired meat dishes with a hint of sweetness.

4. Campo Marina Primitivo di Manduria DOP – vintage 2024

The next level of Primitivo enjoyment. Manduria is regarded as the absolute epicentre for top-class Primitivo. Thanks to the strict DOP regulations, this wine gains enormous depth.

• Character: Concentrated, powerful and extremely creamy on the palate. A dense wine with ripe, slightly sweet tannins.
• Aromatics: Sumptuous aromas of dried figs, raisins, dark cherries and fine chocolate, wonderfully balanced by subtle woody and roasted notes.
• Serving recommendation: An excellent companion to braised beef, game dishes or simply as a soloist for a cosy evening by the fireplace (18 °C).

5. Campo Marina Primitivo Merlot Puglia IGP – vintage 2024

A masterful cuvée in which the untamed, sun-kissed fruit of Primitivo meets the velvety, international elegance of Merlot.

• Character: Extremely smooth, harmonious and rounded. The two grape varieties complement each other perfectly to create a dense, soft taste experience.
• Aromatics: Plenty of red berry fruit, ripe plums and blueberries, rounded off by sweet spice notes, cinnamon and vanilla.
• Serving recommendation: Excellent with gently braised meat, BBQ ribs, juicy burgers or medium-aged Gouda.

6. Il Bacca Primitivo di Manduria DOP – vintage 2022

The undisputed monument and flagship of this package. A Primitivo di Manduria of absolute top class, vinified from the oldest vineyards of the estate and matured for an extended period in barrique.

• Character: Inky black in the glass, monumental, extremely dense and with an almost oily complexity. The tannins are like silk, and the finish seems to linger for minutes.
• Aromatics: An explosive, multifaceted bouquet of blackberry compote, dried fruit, fine chocolate, freshly roasted coffee beans, vanilla pod and noble balsamic notes.
• Serving recommendation: A noble meditation wine. At the table it shines alongside a Bistecca alla Fiorentina, hearty wild boar stew or Parmigiano Reggiano aged for 36 months. Decanting in advance is recommended!
