The Les Carretals Minervois from the hands of Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot from Burgundy reveals a dense, ruby-red color in the glass. With a slight tilt, the red wine glass shows a charming garnet-red hue at the rims. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals high density and richness, which is reflected in distinct church windows on the glass wall. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red offers wonderfully expressive aromas of plum and blackberry, rounded off by further fruity nuances.
Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot Les Carretals Minervois delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler categories, and thus this Frenchman, despite all its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine presents itself as wonderfully dense. The finish of this matured red wine from the Burgundy wine-growing region finally impresses with a remarkable length. Les Carretals Minervois is an Old World wine through and through, as this French wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After being handpicked, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine matures for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
