More information about Limousin Reserva Rueda DO - Marqués de Riscal
The Limousin Reserva Rueda from the pen of Marqués de Riscal from Castilla y León offers a dense, pale yellow color in the glass. To the nose, this Marqués de Riscal white wine reveals all sorts of grapefruit, gallia melon, pink grapefruit, mangoes and oranges. As if that wasn't already impressive, vanilla, cinnamon and oriental spices join in due to the aging in large wooden barrels.
On the palate, Marqués de Riscal's Limousin Reserva Rueda opens delightfully dry, grippy and aromatic. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This white wine belongs to the second group, as it was vinified with only 2.2 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this punchy white wine is wonderfully creamy and dense. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Limousin Reserva Rueda flatters the palate with a pleasing feel, without lacking freshness. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Castile - León finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of lemongrass and kumquat appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and sand are added.
Vinification of the Marqués de Riscal Limousin Reserva Rueda
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Verdejo. Only premium grape material was harvested for this exceptionally powerful varietal wine from Marqués de Riscal. In Castile - León, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand, limestone and gravel. After the harvest, the grapes arrive quickly at the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Limousin Reserva Rueda is aged for another 6 months in French oak barrels.
