More information about Noir Pinot Noir - Escarpment Winery

The Noir Pinot Noir from Escarpment Winery on New Zealand’s North Island shows a bright, light red color in the glass. This varietal New Zealand wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of blackberry, blueberry, currant and plum in the glass. Added to this are hints of black cherry, red currant and cranberry.

This wine impresses with its straightforward, dry taste profile. It was bottled with only 1 gram of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this New Zealander delights, despite all its dryness, with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require sugar. Thanks to its present fruit acidity, the Noir Pinot Noir appears exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the New Zealand North Island wine-growing region is ultimately compelling with a beautiful aftertaste.

Vinification of the Noir Pinot Noir from Escarpment Winery

The well-balanced Noir Pinot Noir from New Zealand is a single-varietal wine made from the Pinot Noir grape. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before finally being bottled.
