Vinification of the Antigua Bodega Pedregal Tannat Rosé

The balanced Pedregal Tannat Rosé from Uruguay is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Tannat grape variety. The grapes grow close to the river in Canelones. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of granite. Due to the balancing influence of the nearby river, the grapes ripen more slowly and develop more aromatic complexity. The berries for this rosé wine from Uruguay are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and gently broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
