More information about Primeiro Nome Rosso - Miguel Louro

With the Miguel Louro Primeiro Nome Rosso, a first-class red wine finds its way into the glass. There it displays a wonderfully dense, ruby-red color. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine reveals delightfully complex aromas of sour cherry, plum, blueberry, and blackberry, rounded off by cinnamon and clove.

On the palate, Miguel Louro's Primeiro Nome Rosso starts pleasantly dry, firm, and aromatic. Powerful and multi-layered, this light, silky, and crisp red wine presents itself on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the Alentejo wine-growing region, more precisely from Alentejo DOC, finally impresses with a beautiful aftertaste.

Vinification of the Primeiro Nome Rosso by Miguel Louro

The powerful Primeiro Nome Rosso from Portugal is a cuvée vinified from the grape varieties Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, and Trincadeira Preta. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After it is complete, the Primeiro Nome Rosso can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.

Food recommendation for Miguel Louro Primeiro Nome Rosso

This Portuguese red wine is best enjoyed tempered at 15–18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, fried calf’s liver with apples, onions, and balsamic sauce, or boeuf bourguignon.
