Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. Light-footed and multilayered, this silky red wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Ruber Pinot Noir from the Ahr flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without lacking freshness at the same time. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of the Ahr finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by clay and slate.

Vinification of the Ruber Pinot Noir from the Ahr by Weinhaus Nelles

The elegant Ruber Pinot Noir from the Ahr region of Germany is a single varietal wine made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. In the Ahr, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, slate, silicate rock and loess soil. Moreover, the grapes of this top wine from Weinhaus Nelles do not grow in the flat land, but dig their roots into the subsoil in steep slopes. The steep slope cultivation ensures that even in cooler wine-growing regions with less long vegetation periods, the vines receive a maximum of sun. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Ruber Pinot Noir from the Ahr are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
