More information about RunRig - Torbreck

The RunRig from Torbreck is an excellent red wine cuvée of Shiraz (98.5%) and Viognier (1.5%).

In the glass, this Australian red wine presents itself in a strong purple red with violet reflections. The complex nose reveals powerful notes of ripe raspberries, crème de cassis and some juicy apricot - underpinned by aromas of black olives, heart cherries and cigar wood box. On the palate, this wine is very complex with a dense concentrated texture. Black berries, dark chocolate and some anise present themselves. The finish is compelling with excellent length and spicy, sweet hints.

Vinification of the Torbreck RunRig

The vines for this red wine grow in the Barossa Valley on the RunRig vineyard. The grapes come from 160 year old vines.

The grapes are harvested and selected with the utmost care. In the winery, the grapes are gently pressed for fermentation in stainless steel tanks. For concentrated, aromatic character, this wine is aged for a total of 30 months in French oak barriques.

Food Recommendation for Torbreck's RunRig

Enjoy this dry top red wine with beef fillet tips with mushrooms in a creamy sauce and gnocchi, duck breast à l`Orange or also with selected sausage and cheese specialties.
