More information about Silvaner trocken - Bickel-Stumpf

The Silvaner from the wine-growing region of Franconia presents itself in the glass in a bright light yellow. The bouquet of this white wine from Franconia delights with aromas of guava, pear, apple and star fruit. If we trace the aromatics further, green peppers, garrigue and Mediterranean herbs are added.

This dry white wine from Bickel-Stumpf is something for wine drinkers who prefer to drink bone dry. The Silvaner already comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 8.7 grams of residual sugar. Balanced and multifaceted, this light white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Silvaner is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Franconia, more precisely from Frickenhausen, finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by sandstone and limestone.

Vinification of the Silvaner from Bickel-Stumpf

The basis for the balanced Silvaner from Franconia are grapes from the grape variety Silvaner. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Franconia. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and sandstone. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Silvaner can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.

Food recommendation for the Silvaner of Bickel-Stumpf

This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to coconut-lime fish curry, omelet with salmon and fennel or fruity endive salad.
