St. Laurent Rothenberg trocken - Klumpp

With Klumpp St. Laurent Rothenberg, a first-class red wine finds its way into the glass. It presents a wonderfully bright, light red color. When the glass is swirled, this Klumpp red wine reveals to the nose all kinds of mulberries, blackberries, plums, morello cherries, and blueberries. As if that were not impressive enough, maturation in small wooden barrels adds black tea, vanilla, and oriental spices.

Klumpp St. Laurent Rothenberg delights with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with just 0.8 grams of residual sugar. As one would naturally expect from a wine in the premium category, this German wine, despite all its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require sugar. Thanks to its distinctive fruit acidity, St. Laurent Rothenberg appears impressively fresh and lively on the palate.

Vinification of St. Laurent Rothenberg by Klumpp

This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Saint Laurent. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally well-balanced varietal wine from Klumpp. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone, clay, and marl. The ripening of the Saint Laurent grapes for this wine is influenced to a significant extent by the climate of the growing region. In Baden, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and even grape clusters and a more moderate must weight. At optimal ripeness, the grapes for St. Laurent Rothenberg are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of rough and non-selective machinery. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures follows. Vinification is followed by maturation for several months in French barriques.

Food recommendation for St. Laurent Rothenberg by Klumpp

This German wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to stuffed bell peppers, braised chicken in red wine, or fried calf’s liver with apples, onions, and balsamic sauce.
