More information about Dornfelder halbtrocken - Turmfalke
With Peter Mertes Turmfalke Dornfelder, a first-class red wine finds its way into the glass. It reveals a wonderfully brilliant, purple-red color. The initial nose of the Turmfalke Dornfelder shows notes of black cherries, plums and morello cherries. Joining the fruity hints of the bouquet are further fruity-balsamic nuances.
The Turmfalke Dornfelder can rightly be described as exceptionally fruit-driven and velvety, as it has been vinified with a pleasantly sweet flavor profile. Light-footed and multi-layered, this velvety red wine presents itself on the palate. Thanks to its present acidity, the Turmfalke Dornfelder appears wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this red wine from the Rheinhessen wine-growing region delights with a lovely length. Once again, hints of black cherry and plum appear.
Vinification of Turmfalke Dornfelder by Peter Mertes
This elegant red wine from Germany is made from the Dornfelder grape variety. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by maturation for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled. After the wine has been completed, the Turmfalke Dornfelder is gently harmonized.
