Unwooded Chardonnay - Leopard's Leap

In the glass, the Unwooded Chardonnay from Leopard's Leap presents a bright golden-yellow color. On the nose, this Leopard's Leap white wine displays all kinds of lemongrass, lime, grapefruit, Nashi pear and orange. As if that were not impressive enough, further aromas such as cream candy, braided yeast pastry and brioche are added through maturation in stainless steel.

Leopard's Leap Unwooded Chardonnay presents itself to the connoisseur pleasantly dry. This white wine never appears coarse or lean, but rather round and smooth. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Western Cape wine-growing region finally delights with a lovely length. Once again, hints of pear and pink grapefruit appear.

Vinification of Leopard's Leap Unwooded Chardonnay

The well-balanced Unwooded Chardonnay from South Africa is a single-varietal wine made from the Chardonnay grape. After hand-picking, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
