The barrel-aged Pinot Blanc from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen presents a bright light yellow color in the glass. In the glass, this white wine from Dreissigacker presents aromas of grapefruit, pink grapefruit, oranges, limes and pears, complemented by lovage, roasted almond and forest floor. On the palate, the Pinot Blanc from Dreissigacker starts wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry, others bone dry. This white wine belongs to the second group, as it was bottled with only 2 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly creamy and dense texture. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Pinot Blanc is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of orange and pink grapefruit. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess and marl join in.

Vinification of the Pinot Blanc of Dreissigacker

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Pinot Blanc. Only first-class grape material was brought in for this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Dreissigacker. In Rheinhessen, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, limestone, loess and marl. When the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Pinot Blanc are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for Dreissigacker Pinot Blanc

This German white wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to leek soup, vegetable salad with beetroot or chickpea curry.
