More information about Wunderwerk Spätburgunder - Dreissigacker
The barrel-aged Wunderwerk Pinot Noir from the Rheinhessen wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright light red. At the rim, this German red also shows a transition into garnet red. When swirling the glass, this red wine reveals a perfect balance, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. With a little time in the glass, this Old World red wine presents wonderfully expressive aromas of blackcurrant, morello cherry, plum and black cherry, rounded off by oriental spices, vanilla and cinnamon contributed by the barrel aging.
On the palate, Dreissigacker’s Wunderwerk Pinot Noir starts off wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. There is dry and really dry. This red wine belongs to the latter group, as it was bottled with only 0.1 g of residual sugar. Thanks to its balanced acidity, Wunderwerk Pinot Noir caresses the palate with a pleasing mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness. The finish of this red wine from the Rheinhessen wine-growing region ultimately delights with a remarkable length.
Vinification of Wunderwerk Pinot Noir by Dreissigacker
The balanced Wunderwerk Pinot Noir from Germany is a varietal wine, organically vinified from the Pinot Noir grape variety. Wunderwerk Pinot Noir is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The development of the grapes for this Pinot Noir wine is significantly influenced by the climate of the growing region. In Rheinhessen, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and even clusters and a rather moderate must weight. When perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Wunderwerk Pinot Noir are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of coarse and less selective mechanical harvesters. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, Wunderwerk Pinot Noir is aged for several months in oak barrels.
