More information about Blanco Rioja DOCa - Bodegas Muga

The barrel-aged Blanco Rioja from the wine-growing region of La Rioja shows a bright pale yellow color in the glass. This Spanish cuvée presents in the glass wonderfully youthful notes of pear, lemongrass, orange and apple. These are joined by hints of oak, cigar box and toasted barrique.

The Blanco Rioja from Bodegas Muga is ideal for all wine lovers who like it dry. At the same time, however, it never shows itself barren or brittle, as one might naturally expect from a wine. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully silky. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Blanco Rioja reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this ripening white wine from the wine-growing region of La Rioja, more precisely from the Rioja DOCa, finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and clay.

Vinification of the Bodegas Muga Blanco Rioja

The basis for the balanced Blanco Rioja from La Rioja are grapes from the grape varieties Grenache Blanc, Malvasia Bianca and Viura. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in La Rioja. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and clay. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a maturation of 3 months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Blanco Rioja from Bodegas Muga

Enjoy this white wine from Spain ideally well chilled at 8 - 10°C as a companion to asparagus salad with quinoa, cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables or cabbage roulades.
