The Cabmerlot Kaisermantel from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen presents itself in the glass in bright purple. At the edge, this German red also shows a transition into garnet red. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Germany shows wonderfully complex aromas of morello cherry, black currant, blackberry and mulberry, rounded off by other fruity nuances.

This dry red wine from Dr. Koehler is perfect for wine lovers who like it absolutely dry. The Cabmerlot Kaisermantel already comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 5.5 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully dense. The fruit acid of the Cabmerlot Kaisermantel is pleasantly restrained and makes this wine wonderfully smooth. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the limestone and sandstone dominated soils.

Vinification of the Dr. Koehler Cabmerlot Kaisermantel

The basis for Dr. Koehler's first-class and wonderfully balanced Cabmerlot Kaisermantel cuvée is Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. In Rheinhessen, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, limestone, sandstone and brown earth. The grapes for this red wine from Germany, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand . After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Dr. Koehler Cabmerlot Kaisermantel

This German wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, duck breast with sugar snap peas or spaghetti with caper and tomato sauce.
