More information about Chardonnay Ried Schüttenberg - Weingut Markowitsch

The Chardonnay Ried Schüttenberg, matured in barrel and originating from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, presents itself in the glass in a bright golden yellow. When the glass is swirled, this white wine reveals a perfect balance, as it does not appear watery, syrupy, or liqueur-like on the sides of the glass. This varietal Austrian wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of mango and orange in the glass. These are joined by hints of mineral notes.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with only 1.1 grams of residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly sets itself apart from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Austrian enchants with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced white wine is wonderfully light. Thanks to its pronounced acidity, the Chardonnay Ried Schüttenberg appears delightfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria finally convinces with a remarkable length.

Vinification of Weingut Markowitsch Chardonnay Ried Schüttenberg

The well-balanced Chardonnay Ried Schüttenberg from Austria is a single-varietal wine, vinified from the Chardonnay grape variety. The Chardonnay Ried Schüttenberg is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Austrian exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After hand harvesting, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Chardonnay Ried Schüttenberg is aged for another 12 months in oak barriques.

Food recommendation for the Chardonnay Ried Schüttenberg from Weingut Markowitsch

This Austrian wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompanying wine with vegetable salad with beetroot, spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto, or fruity endive salad.
