With the A. Diehl Dornfelder, a first-class red wine comes into the swirling glass. In this it offers a wonderfully brilliant, crimson color. This single-varietal German wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of morello cherries, plums, prunes and black cherries in the glass. These are joined by hints of other fruits.
This dry red wine from A. Diehl is something for people who like it absolutely dry. The Dornfelder comes quite close to this, as it was pressed with just 5.5 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this light-footed red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its lively fruit acid, the Dornfelder is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Palatinate finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of morello cherry and plum show through.
Vinification of the Dornfelder from A. Diehl
After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
