The finish of this red wine from the Catalonian wine-growing region, more precisely from Terra Alta DO, ultimately delights with a lovely aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets from the limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of Altavins Garnatxa Peluda Almodí
This powerful red wine from Spain is made from the Garnacha grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Catalonia. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into limestone soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 4 months of aging in French oak barrels.
