The barrel-aged Terra Alta La Pilosa from the wine-growing region of Catalonia offers a dense purple red in the glass. The first nose of Terra Alta La Pilosa presents of plums, blackcurrants and morello cherries. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging like even more fruity-balsamic nuances.

The Herència Altés Terra Alta La Pilosa inspires with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with only 0.6 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this Spaniard naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to its vital fruit acid, the Terra Alta La Pilosa is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region of Catalonia finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of morello cherry and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and clay are added.

Vinification of the Terra Alta La Pilosa from Herència Altés

The basis for the powerful Terra Alta La Pilosa from Catalonia are grapes from the Garnacha grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Catalonia. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of sand, limestone and clay. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of the fermentation, the Terra Alta La Pilosa is left to mature on its fine lees for 10 months.

Food recommendation for Herència Altés Terra Alta La Pilosa

This Spanish wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, braised chicken in red wine or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
