More information about Terra Alta La Xalamera DO - Herència Altés

Terra Alta La Xalamera, from Herència Altés of Catalonia, offers a dense purple color in the glass. Held at a slight angle, a transition of hue toward garnet red is evident at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, evident in strong church windows at the rim of the glass. This single varietal Spanish wine presents wonderfully expressive notes of violets, plums, roses and lavender in the glass. These are joined by hints of cocoa bean, dark chocolate and cinnamon.

This dry red wine from Herència Altés is something for wine connoisseurs who like their wine dry. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its lively fruit acid, the Terra Alta La Xalamera presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this good aging red wine from the wine-growing region of Catalonia, more precisely from Terra Alta DO, finally convinces with a beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by limestone and clay.
