More information about Grauburgunder - Oliver Zeter
Oliver Zeter's Pinot Gris is produced purely from grapes grown in the Southern Palatinate. Zeter's Pinot Gris comes into the glass with a bright straw yellow color. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe Abate Fetel pears, juicy winter apple and even tropical nuances of honeydew melon, pineapple and more.
On the palate, the Oliver Zeter Pinot Gris is fantastically melting, mineral and, despite all its power and density, equally elegant. A wine with varietal aromatics, a Palatinate drop for every day with a claim to special occasions.
Vinification of the Grauburgunder by Oliver Zeter
The grapes for this Pinot Gris from Oliver Zeter grow in the Southern Palatinate on south exposed chalky loam and loess soils. In order to reduce yields and thus achieve higher quality, the grapes are harvested green. Thanks to green manuring, an ecological nutrient cycle is created. The grapes are immediately pressed gently in the winery. Subsequently, the fresh must clarifies itself by sedimentation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and is very slow, so that the fruit is in the foreground. Part of the total is fermented spontaneously in wooden barrels. The wine is bottled unfined and only lightly filtered.
Food recommendation for the Pinot Gris from Oliver Zeter
This Pinot Gris goes well as an aperitif, with risotto and pasta dishes with vegetable sauces or fish, fish dishes or white meat, grilled or with sauces.
