More information about Grauer Burgunder trocken - Martin Waßmer
The elegant Grauer Burgunder Markgräflerland Martin Waßmer shimmers with bright copper gold in the glass. The nose of this Martin Waßmer white wine shows all sorts of orange blossom, cherry blossom, apples, lime and jasmine. As if that weren't already impressive, lovage, garrigue and sun-warmed rocks join in due to the stainless steel aging.
This dry white wine from Martin Waßmer is perfect for wine lovers who can't drink their wine dry enough. The Grauer Burgunder Markgräflerland already comes very close to this, as it was pressed with just 2.8 grams of residual sugar. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Pinot Gris Markgräflerland is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate.
Vinification of the Martin Waßmer Pinot Gris Markgräflerland
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Pinot Gris. Only the best grape material was brought in for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Martin Waßmer. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Baden. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of loam and loess. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Grauer Burgunder Markgräflerland are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machinery. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Pinot Gris Markgräflerland is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
