More information about Grohstoff Chardonnay trocken - Groh
The Grohstoff Chardonnay from the pen of Groh from Rheinhessen presents a bright, golden yellow color in the wine glass. This single-varietal German wine flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of pears, pineapple, orange blossom and Gallia melon. There are also hints of other fruits.
This German wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with 3.8 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this German wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Taste does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. The texture of this well-balanced white wine is wonderfully melting on the palate. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, Grohstoff Chardonnay is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen impresses with its remarkable length. There are again hints of star fruit and quince. Mineral notes from the limestone and marl-dominated soils are added to the finish.
Vinification of the Groh Grohstoff Chardonnay
The basis for the balanced Grohstoff Chardonnay from Rheinhessen are grapes from the Chardonnay grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into limestone and marl soils. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation for several months in oak barriques.
Dining recommendation for the Groh Chardonnay from Groh
