More information about Hautnah Roter Traminer - Nico Espenschied

The light-footed Hautnah Roter Traminer from Nico Espenschied shimmers into the glass with brilliant copper gold. As you swirl the wine glass, this white wine is characterized by a delightful lightness that makes it dance nimbly in the glass. This single varietal German wine is delightfully youthful in the glass with notes of jasmine, violet, perfumed rose and pink grapefruit. It is joined by hints of oriental spice, gingerbread spice and cocoa bean.

The Nico Espenschied Hautnah Roter Traminer is ideal for all connoisseurs who like as little residual sugar in the wine as possible. At the same time, it never shows itself to be meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine in this price range. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed white wine is wonderfully light and crisp. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Nico Espenschied Hautnah Roter Traminer flatters with a pleasing mouthfeel without lacking freshness. The finale of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen, more precisely from Flonheim, finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by limestone and loess.

Vinification of the Nico Espenschied Hautnah Roter Traminer

The elegant Nico Espenschied Hautnah Roter Traminer from Germany is a single-varietal wine made from the Gewürztraminer grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and loess. Nico Espenschied Hautnah Roter Traminer is an Old World wine through and through, as this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The fact that Gewürztraminer grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a very high influence on the development of the vintage. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and even grape ripening and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Nico Espenschied Hautnah Roter Traminer are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Nico Espenschied Hautnah Roter Traminer can further harmonize for 14 months on the fine yeast.

Food recommendation for the Hautnah Roter Traminer by Nico Espenschied

This German white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to asparagus salad with quinoa, fennel salad with red lentils or leek soup.
