More information about Jahrgangssekt Brut - Geldermann Sekt

Radiantly bright straw yellow with fine, persistent perlage distinguishes the Vintage Brut Sekt - Geldermann Sekt in the glass. Delicate silver reflections accentuate its elegant appearance. On the nose, it reveals a multi-layered aromatic profile with juicy notes of green apple, ripe peach and fragrant apricot. These are joined by hints of pear compote, fine brioche and a touch of toasted nuts, reminiscent of traditional bottle fermentation.

On the palate, this vintage Sekt from Baden is lively, linear and at the same time enticingly creamy. The finely balanced perlage carries the fruity aromas across the palate with intensity, creating a fresh, precise mouthfeel. The taste remains dry, with an elegant interplay of citrus freshness, stone fruit and delicate yeast spice. The structure is taut, the acidity clear and stimulating, while the texture is creamy yet crisp. The finish is medium to long, with a subtly saline accent and a distinctive character.

The cuvée of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Noir and Spätburgunder comes from selected sites in Baden. The white varieties contribute finesse, citrus freshness and cool fruit, while Pinot Noir and Spätburgunder lend the Sekt fullness, depth and a subtle red-fruit nuance. Its Baden origin creates a characterful combination of southern German ripeness and clear structure.

Production of the Vintage Brut Sekt - Geldermann Sekt

The Vintage Brut Sekt - Geldermann Sekt is made from selected grapes originating in the sun-drenched Baden wine-growing region. The mild climate along the Upper Rhine, warm days and cool nights support a slow, flavour-rich ripening of the grapes. Different soils composed of loess, limestone and partly stony subsoil lend the cuvée tension, minerality and precise structure.

Only grapes from a single vintage are used for this vintage Sekt. The harvest is carried out selectively, ensuring that only fully ripe and aromatically expressive grapes are processed. Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc provide the foundation of freshness and elegance, while Pinot Noir and Spätburgunder shape the body and depth of the cuvée. Gentle pressing preserves the varietal aromas and fine acidity.

The first fermentation takes place under temperature-controlled conditions in stainless-steel tanks. This preserves the clear fruit notes of apple, peach and apricot. The second fermentation then takes place in the bottle, the traditional method for high-quality Sekt. During ageing on the lees, the creamy texture, fine, persistent perlage and characteristic brioche note develop. Careful lees ageing intensifies the complexity, refines the mousse and creates exceptional harmony.

The Geldermann house style is based on French cellar craftsmanship and Baden origins. Precision, patience and artisanal sensitivity shape every stage of production. The finished Sekt represents an elegant, classic Brut style, bringing fruit, finesse and yeast notes together in a harmonious whole. The dosage is deliberately restrained so that the vintage’s freshness and clarity remain at the forefront.

Serving Recommendations for the Vintage Brut Sekt - Geldermann Sekt

The Vintage Brut Sekt - Geldermann Sekt accompanies a wide variety of dishes and occasions with style and expression. With light and delicate dishes, the Baden cuvée reveals all its elegance. Fine fish dishes, tender poultry, steamed asparagus, fresh salads or mildly matured cheeses are ideal choices. The fresh fruit and creamy perlage also pair appealingly with sushi, seafood and light starters.

For light yet hearty dishes, pair it with roast poultry, veal schnitzel, quiche, savoury tarts or mild pasta dishes with a white sauce. Its dry character and clear structure create an engaging contrast to creamy or buttery components and bring balance to the table.

  • Perfect as an aperitif for festive receptions
  • A companion for weddings, anniversaries and birthday celebrations
  • A stylish Sekt for romantic evenings for two
  • A sparkling choice for brunch and elegant dinner parties

An ideal serving temperature is approximately 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, the fruit, yeast notes and perlage appear precise and balanced. A slender sparkling-wine glass supports the fine mousse and concentrates the aromas perfectly. The 0.75-litre sparkling-wine bottle has a stylish appearance, while the classic Sekt cork emphasises its traditional character.

The vintage Sekt reaches its finest expression within the first few years after disgorgement. Nevertheless, it can be stored for up to approximately seven years from the vintage, provided the bottles are kept cool, dark and free from vibration. In a consistently temperature-controlled cellar or wine cabinet, the Sekt retains its freshness while the brioche and yeast notes gradually become more refined. The result is an elegant sparkling wine that is immediately captivating and continues to fascinate over the years with added depth.
