More information about Kirchberg Chardonnay trocken - Klumpp

The barrel-aged Kirchberg Chardonnay from the Baden winegrowing region presents a bright golden yellow color in the glass. This single varietal German wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of nashi pear, papayas, star fruit and pears in the glass. These are joined by hints of roasted almonds, brittle and toasted hazelnut.

The Klumpp Kirchberg Chardonnay presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine lover. This white wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Kirchberg Chardonnay is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate.

Vinification of the Klumpp Kirchberg Chardonnay

The basis for the balanced Kirchberg Chardonnay from Baden are grapes from the Chardonnay grape variety. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone and loess. The ripening of the grapes for this wine from Chardonnay is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Baden, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After harvesting, the grapes reach the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Kirchberg Chardonnay is aged for several months in French oak barriques.

Food recommendation for Klumpp Kirchberg Chardonnay

This German wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to stir-fried vegetables with fish, pumpkin casserole or leek soup.
