More information about Malbec Reserve Tupungato - Domaine Bousquet
The Malbec Reserve from Domaine Bousquet is an excellent, elegant and well-balanced red wine from the Argentine wine-growing region of Tupungato in Mendoza, vinified from organically grown grapes.
In the glass it shimmers a deep violet with an almost black core. On the nose, expressive aromas of wild berries – especially raspberry and blackberry – present themselves, complemented by juicy plums and spicy notes of vanilla. On the palate, this Argentine red wine impresses with a medium body wrapped in silky tannins. The acidity is very well integrated and gives this wine excellent structure and length.
Vinification of the Bousquet Tupungato Reserve Malbec
This red wine is vinified mainly from organically grown Malbec grapes. Small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are also added. The vines grow in Tupungato, Alto Gualtallary at an altitude of 1,200 meters. The soils are rich in sand and gravel.
The grapes are harvested by hand in the third and fourth week of April. Once the harvested fruit has arrived at the Bousquet winery, cold maceration begins at 10 degrees Celsius for 48 hours. The must is then fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for 10 days. The fermentation process is completed after an additional 14-day maceration and malolactic fermentation. Finally, this wine is rounded off with 10 months of aging in French oak barrels.
