More information about Meissener Grauburgunder trocken - Schloss Proschwitz

The Meissen Pinot Gris from the wine-growing region of Saxony presents itself in the glass in brilliantly shimmering copper gold. When swirling the wine glass, this white wine is characterized by a fascinating lightness that makes it dance lively in the glass. To the nose, this Schloss Proschwitz white wine presents all manner of pineapple, guava, pomelo, mango and pink grapefruit. As if that wasn't already impressive, other aromas like forest floor and sun-warmed rock join in.

On the palate, Schloss Proschwitz's Meissen Pinot Gris starts wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly light and crisp texture. The finale of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Saxony, more precisely from Meissen, finally captivates with good reverberation.

Vinification of the Schloss Proschwitz Meissener Pinot Gris

This wine clearly puts the focus on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Gris. Only first-class grapes were used for this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Schloss Proschwitz. When the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Meissener Grauburgunder are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles. After the wine is finished, the Meissen Pinot Gris is carefully harmonized.

Food recommendation for the Schloss Proschwitz Meissener Grauburgunder

This white wine from Germany is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to leek tortilla, baked sheep's cheese parcels or spicy curry with lamb.
